The folks who are Plymouth Church engage in many kinds of acts of love. Some of them are represented by the "missions" or ministries we've adopted over the years, such as:

  • Just Coffee: Nearly every Sunday morning we have for sale good-quality coffee, ground or whole-bean, that's not only organic and fair-trade, but which comes from a co-op in Chiapas, Mexico where 19 families are able to support themselves because of their hard work and our coffee purchases. Support "Cafe Justo" with us!
  • God's Love: Every few months we cook and serve a hot meal for homeless men served by God's Love, a Christian ministry in the heart of Helena. We also provide clothing and food on other occasions, too!
  • Food Share: We collect packaged food and staples on a regular basis, which is given to this local ministry serving the needs of folks in Helena who can't afford to feed their families.
  • Intermountain: This Helena-based ministry has as its mission that the needs of children shall not go unaddressed. As part of one of the founding denominations involved in this crucial program, we've supported Intermountain for many years. And they're neighbors!
  • Family Promise: When families find themselves without a home, and have no place else to turn, Family Promise gives them shelter. With other local churches and faith groups, Plymouth provides housing in our church as these families work hard to get their feet back on the ground.
  • Through One Great Hour of Sharing and other efforts connected with the United Church of Christ and our joint United Church of Christ/Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Global Ministries, we reach out with emergency and disaster assistance, education, health care, and many kinds of hands-on ministries throughout the United States and around the World. Our dollars travel to places we can't go ourselves, bringing Christian love to those in need.

For now let's call it "Staggering Faith".

Tuesdays at the Staggering Ox. Come have a coffee, a beer, a glass of wine, and/or some food, and we'll talk. Weekly topics are available on the events page. No right or wrong answers, no "correct answer" given--it's just talk. If you're under 55 or so, I'm especially talking to you! Look for the Still Speaking comma if you don't know me very well. I hope to get Helena interested in frank, friendly and respectful conversation on faith and spirituality Wednesdays at 5:30-in the Fireside Room we have Soul Food. I'm still here! Ready, willing and able to nurture spiritual growth, friendships and fun for our Youth. This year our focus will be on strengthening the relationships within the small group that we have and doubling in size by the end of the season. We also will be looking at the Comma Club meeting room and making it, well......more awesome, as well as, the "Honor Your Elders Dinner" event. Finally, a youth retreat is way overdue, this year we have got to make it happen. So that's where you come in, all youth looking for a fun group to chill with and ready for some action. Check us out every Sunday night from 6pm-8pm starting September 4th, 2011. - call me for details 442-9883.
