Looking Ahead

Come and worship with us this summer. I always enjoy summer worship services because, for some reason, they seem more laid back and less formal, and are a relaxing way to begin one of our precious summer days. Summer often brings interesting sermon topics and guest speakers who challenge us to explore our faith. We change things up a bit and find peace and meaning in different ways than we do during the “regular” church year. This summer will be no different. I hope your “in town” weekends will bring you to Plymouth for a short hour or so of renewal along your busy path.

Some things to look forward to:

June 6 – What ever happened to baccalaureate ceremonies at graduation time? Jan Clinard will be our guest speaker and deliver her version of a baccalaureate address to explore all of the transitions in our lives and how our faith is useful in those exciting and challenging times. We will honor those in transition on that day so if you know a graduate or anyone in another type of transition (new job, new baby, engagement, etc.) please let me or the office know. We will include names in the bulletin.* *A note about communion: we will celebrate Holy Communion on June 13 and July 11 in order to accommodate our guest speakers who will be speaking on our regular communion day (the first Sunday of the month).

July 4 - Father Stephen Brehe, a recently retired Episcopal minister from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will be our guest preacher.*

July 25 – Breakfast on the Pass! Watch for all the details about this annual Plymouth event.

August 20-22 – Plymouth retreats to Camp Miminagish. What a fun way to get to know others in your congregation and relax in that beautiful Miminagish setting. If you can’t make it, church will still be held at the regular time and place with a guest speaker who is yet to be determined.

Congratulations to our newly called Pastors, Cathy Barker and Dick Weaver. Be sure to save Sunday, September 19 at 4:00 in the afternoon on your calendar. We will be planning an installation service for them that we hope will be exciting for the congregation and meaningful for our new pastors. Preliminary ideas for the service include a music filled time of worship lead by our conference minister, Randy Hyvonen. We welcome your ideas and hope to see you there.

Summer in Montana is a precious, albeit brief season that we all treasure. Worship at Plymouth this summer and add to your enjoyment of this special time in the life of the church.

We celebrate Holy Communion the first Sunday of the month. All are welcome at Christ's table.

Third Sundays of the month will be an opportunity for alternative music and worship.
